About this vacancy
The Assam State Level Police Recruitment Board (SLPRB) has released a bumper notification for 6,674 Constable posts under Armed Branch (AB) and Unarmed Branch (UB) of Assam Police. This is one of the largest police recruitments in Assam in recent years. Selected candidates will serve in various districts of Assam. The selection process includes a written examination, physical efficiency test (PET), physical standard test (PST), and document verification.
Eligibility criteria
- Passed HSLC (Class 10) from SEBA or equivalent recognised board
- Age: 18 to 25 years (as on 01 Jan 2025). Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC as per Assam govt rules
- Must be a citizen of India and ordinarily resident of Assam
- Physical standards: Male — Height 163cm, Chest 80–85cm. Female — Height 150cm
- No criminal record. Must be of sound health and good character
Selection process
Stage 1 — Written Exam
100 MCQ questions · 90 minutes · General Knowledge, Reasoning, Math, English
Stage 2 — Physical Standard Test (PST)
Height & Chest measurement. Male: 163cm / 80–85cm chest. Female: 150cm
Stage 3 — Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
1600m run, long jump, high jump for male; 800m run for female
