About this vacancy
The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) conducts the Combined Competitive Examination for recruitment to Grade I and Grade II posts in Assam Civil Service (ACS), Assam Police Service (APS), Assam Finance Service, Assam Revenue Service, and other allied services. Three stages: Preliminary (objective), Main (descriptive), and Personality Test.
Eligibility criteria
- Must hold a degree from a recognised University or equivalent qualification
- Age: 21 to 38 years as on 01 Jan 2025 (Upper limit relaxed for SC/ST/OBC/EWS)
- Must be a citizen of India
- Knowledge of Assamese language (except for ST Hills candidates)
- No criminal record and must meet medical standards

Stage 1 — Preliminary Exam
200 MCQ · 2 papers · General Studies & Aptitude · Qualifying in nature
Stage 2 — Main Examination
6 descriptive papers including Essay, General Studies I & II, Optional Subject (2 papers), and Language
Stage 3 — Personality Test / Interview
200 marks · Assesses personality, analytical ability, and suitability for service
