1. Who we are

Nijukti (nijukti.org) is a government job discovery and exam preparation platform focused on Northeast India. We are operated by the Nijukti team based in Assam, India. For any privacy-related queries, contact us at hello@nijukti.org.

2. Information we collect

We collect the following categories of information:

Alert signup: Phone number or email address, preferred state, and target exams — used only to send job alerts.
Contact form: Name, email, and message you submit through our contact page.
CV generator: Personal details you enter (name, DOB, education, etc.) to generate a CV. This data is sent to our AI service and is not stored on our servers.
Quiz usage: No personal data is collected for quiz sessions. Quiz questions are generated on demand and not tied to any user identity.
Usage data: Standard web analytics — pages visited, browser type, approximate location (city level). We do not use cookies for tracking.

3. How we use your information

To send job alert notifications (email or SMS) when you subscribe.
To respond to contact form enquiries.
To improve our website and content based on aggregated usage patterns.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Gemini AI: Used to generate quiz questions and CV content. Data sent to Gemini is subject to Google's privacy policy. We do not send any identifying information beyond what you explicitly type.
MongoDB Atlas: Our database provider, used to store alert subscriptions and contact messages. Data is stored in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
Vercel / Hostinger: Web hosting provider. Standard server logs may be retained per their policies.

5. Data retention

Alert subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Contact form messages are retained for up to 12 months. CV generator data is not stored — it is processed in real time and discarded after your session.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

Request deletion of your data — email us at hello@nijukti.org.
Unsubscribe from job alerts at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any alert email.
Access a copy of data we hold about you.

7. Children's privacy

Nijukti is intended for users aged 16 and above (the minimum age for most government job applications in India). We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent update. Continued use of Nijukti after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
