The SBI Clerk examination recruits Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) — the clerical cadre forming the front-facing staff at SBI branches nationwide — through a national-level two-stage selection process. The 2026 notification has not yet been released as of this session; based on SBI's standard annual calendar, it is expected in July–August 2026, with Prelims following in September–October. The last confirmed cycle recruited 6,589 Junior Associates, a figure used here pending the official 2026 numbers. Unlike SBI PO, there is no Interview: selection runs through a qualifying Prelims, a scored Mains, and a mandatory (qualifying-only) Local Language Proficiency Test verifying the candidate can read, write and speak the local language of their allotted state — final merit is based solely on Mains marks.
