RRB Group D recruits candidates for Level 1 posts under the 7th Central Pay Commission pay matrix — Track Maintainer Grade IV, Pointsman-B, Assistant (Track Machine, Bridge, S&T, C&W, TRD, TL&AC) and Assistant Loco Shed/Operations, spread across 16 Railway zones and Production Units. Unlike NTPC and JE, Group D is a single-stage exam: one Computer-Based Test, no CBT 2. Candidates with a Class 10 pass, ITI certificate, or NCVT National Apprenticeship Certificate are eligible. After the CBT, qualifying candidates undergo a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — a single qualifying stage testing running speed and endurance, with relaxed standards for women candidates — followed by Document Verification and a Detailed Medical Examination before final appointment.
