The Nagaland Public Service Commission (NPSC) Combined Competitive Examination is the state's primary gateway into Group A and Group B Gazetted posts, principally the Nagaland Civil Service (NCS — entry roles such as Extra Assistant Commissioner and Block Development Officer) and the Nagaland Police Service (NPS — entry-level Deputy Superintendent of Police), alongside allied posts such as Assistant Research Officer, District Transport Officer and Assistant Labour Commissioner. The 2025 cycle invited applications for 96 vacancies across NCS, NPS and Allied Services. Selection runs across three stages: a qualifying Preliminary Examination (a single objective-type General Studies paper, unlike the two-paper Prelims used in several other NE-state PSCs), a descriptive Main Examination (three General Studies papers, all merit-counted, with no separate optional-subject choice), and a final Interview/Viva-Voce. Prelims was conducted 13 December 2025 with results released shortly after; Mains followed on 20 April 2026.
