National Institute of Technology Silchar (NIT Silchar) is a premier centrally funded technical institute established in 1967 at Silchar, Assam. Originally a Regional Engineering College, it was granted NIT status in 2002. It offers B.Tech in 8 engineering disciplines, M.Tech, M.Sc. (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry), MBA, and Ph.D. programs. NIRF 2024 ranked it 71st overall among engineering institutes nationally.
